Being a teenager and a computer geek in today’s world hardly seems like fertile ground for sainthood, but Venerable Carlo Acutis, who died of leukemia at age 15 in 2006, is showing the world otherwise.

Is the devil stronger in the world today?  “No,” according to an exorcist I once interviewed. “There’s just more people willing to play his game.”  The devil has always been about his business of tempting us, but in the days when more people went to church on Sundays and prayed every day—even public schools use to start the day with prayer—people availed themselves more to God’s protection.

At the end of the March for Life in D.C. attended by half-a-million marchers, a group of boys waiting for their bus became targets. And so did we by getting pulled in.

A miraculous healing at Lourdes, getting hugged by Pope John Paul II, and meeting Mother Teresa, were all a part of Father Christy David Pathiala’s family vacation when he was seven years old.  But it was only ice cream that was on his mind at the time as Christy walked towards the miraculous spring at Lourdes in 1989.
