Father Marius O’Reilly of Cork City, Ireland is pleading with the world through YouTube to pray for the Irish people at this critical time in history. On May 25, the Irish will vote whether to keep the pro-life 8th amendment in the constitution, which gives equal protection to both mother and child. It is the gift of life to the unborn.
He is begging people to pray the rosary and offer Masses and do whatever we can to pray that Ireland does not legalize abortion. He explained that politicians and international organizations are pushing hard to make abortion legal in his country. “I am making an appeal to you today to please come to our assistance,” he begged.
This Sunday, there will be gatherings at 8 locations in Ireland from 1 :30 to 4:00 p.m. Irish time, led by Archbishop Eamon Martin through a satellite hookup from Lourdes, France. “We will be asking God to have mercy on our country,” Father Marius said. “We will be on bended knee before him."
He appealed again for prayers, rosaries, and Masses and ended with a blessing: “May God bless you abundantly, your family and loved ones and all you may come in contact with, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
