It’s sad that a secular newspaper will publish a full length article on New Age recommendations for healing but you never see anything that promotes Catholic truths–the real truth.  I wrote a letter to the Miami Herald regarding their recent New Age article.  I’m going to do a full length article on his topic, but for now, I wonder if they will publish my letter?

Dear Editor:

In June, you published “12 items an energy healer
says should be in your bedroom,”
promoting New Age perception that items like raw
rocks, yoga blankets, and Tibetan bowls have healing powers.
I am Catholic and I have sacramentals such as sacred images and statues in my home that are powerful.  What’s the difference? Two things.
One, is that the Miami Herald will publish a New Age
article but not one on the power of Catholic sacramentals.
Two,
is that I tap into the real power. I consulted Msgr. John Esseff, a priest in
the diocese of Scranton, Pennsylvania for 63 years for an explanation on where
the real power comes from.
He explained: “The Real Power is God and he created
all things.  He’s the first person of the
Trinity; his son is Jesus, the only begotten Son of God who came into the world
by the overpowering of the Holy Spirit

“This is our God, who loves us so much that
he came from heaven to dwell in us. He is in each baptized person and explodes
in us through the Holy Eucharist. There is no God except God. Our sacramentals represent the power of Jesus.”
